Moving a Takeout Archive to a Shared Folder
This article explains how to move a Google Takeout email archive file from My Drive to a shared drive.
Instructions to find and move the file :
- Go to drive.google.com
- In the left sidebar of the window click Shared with me.
- Verify that you see a folder labeled Legal Email Archives
- Expand the My Drive folder in the left sidebar, look for a folder labeled with the email address you wish to access
- Open the folder and look for a folder labeled Takeout. Open that folder.
- Inside you will see a file with a name like "takeout-20230818T171627Z-001.zip"
- Right click on that file and select Organize > Move

- Select All locations > Shared with me

- Double click Legal Email Archives and then open the folder with the name of the person
- Click Move
