The intent of this article is to provide a visual aid of the steps needed to complete a 1Password account recovery. This is only needed if you have either forgotten your password to access your account, or if you started working on a new computer and need to login for the first time on that device. In order to start the process of recovering your account, please submit a ticket, by sending an email to HELPDESK@PLACE.COM and put "1Password" or "Account Recovery" into the subject line. Once we receive the ticket that you're no longer able to access your 1Password account, we'll put your account into recovery mode, which will send out an email to you with a button for you to click to complete your part of the account recovery. Once you click on the "Recover My Account" button, you will be brought to a page where you'll be prompted to update/change your password. Click Next once you've entered your new password. Now that you've reset you password, the next page will provide an updated version of your Emergency Kit which contains your secret key. This secret key is needed to login to a new device so we recommend downloading the PDF and saving it somewhere easily available, but secure, like Google Drive! Click Download PDF to get a copy of the Emergency Kit! That is all that you'll need to do! Once you have reset your password and are brought to the screen to download your updated Emergency Kit, we'll receive a notification on our side to complete your Account Recovery. After we've completed the recovery on our end, you'll receive one final email, letting you know that you Account has been recovered and is ready to use.
